Modern Aquarium

The New York Times did a slide show and story on our domestic relationships with bacteria and fungi.  The article focuses on the "growing movement to integrate organic processes in the creation of buildings and household objects so that resources are conserved and waste is limited"-Julie Lasky

I love this idea, and hope it gets even more traction in the design world.   I think it makes 'green' decisions much more palatable to people who might not necessarily be drawn to a cause, but rather aesthetic choices.  Often times 'green' choices are reflected in design with overly earnest sensibilities, that I find awkward and sentimental.   Fashion, I admit,  is one of the worst culprits of this.  Work such as the piece above by Mathieu Lehanneur  transcend that grey area of moralizing and propaganda should you choose to enjoy it solely for your viewing pleasure.
